Ingredients

To make this recipe, you’ll need just a few basic ingredients (you guessed it- peaches are first on the list). Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Peaches – Yellow or white peaches can be used. Choose large, juicy peaches for the best flavor. These will be the star of the show, providing that sweet, fresh flavor we’re after.
  • Water – We’ll need very cold water if opting for the blender method.

For the Peach Nectar:

  • Cane Sugar, Agave Nectar, or Maple Syrup – One of these will be our sweetener of choice for the nectar, adding the perfect touch of sweetness. Choose your favorite, and adjust the amount to your liking.
  • Lemon Juice – The tangy flavor of lemon juice provides a beautiful balance to our sweet peach nectar. If you prefer, you can substitute it with lime or orange juice (see below!).

Note: If you’re using organic peaches, you can include the skin when blending. If not, you may want to peel them.

Substitutions

Missing an ingredient in the list above? Here are some simple swaps:

  • Nectarines These are an excellent substitute for peaches and will yield a delicious nectarine juice.
  • Lime or Orange Juice – If you’re out of lemons, feel free to use lime or orange juice instead. It’ll give your nectar a different but equally delightful tang. This replaces the citric acid found in store-bought peach nectar.
  • Simple Syrup Prefer a different sweetener? A homemade simple syrup would work great as a replacement.

Helpful Equipment

While you don’t need a juicer to make this recipe, you will need one of the following:

  • Blender, Juicer, Food Processor, or Immersion Blender Choose the method that works best for you.
  • Fine Mesh Strainer or Nut Milk Bag Essential for removing pulp when using the blender or food processor methods.
  • Mason Jars You’ll need large mason jars for storing your juice.

Ready to start juicing? Let’s dive in!

Each method below will result in a yummy peach nectar, however the sweetness will vary based on your specific produce. When making the nectar, for the best results, remember to adjust the added sugar and lemon juice to taste.

Making Juice with a Juicer

This method provides pure juice with no water needed.

STEP 1: Clean the peaches thoroughly. Slice the peaches and remove the pits.

STEP 2: Add the peach slices into your juicer. Juice according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Collect the juice and discard or compost the peach pulp.

STEP 3: To make the nectar, add your sweetener and lemon juice to the fresh peach juice. Stir until fully combined.

Making Juice with a High-Speed Blender

This method involves a touch of water to help thin out the blended peaches and to create a more juice-like consistency.

STEP 1: Prepare the peaches as described above. If desired, peel the skin off the peaches (this is optional, and the skins can be strained away after blending). Place them into your blender with the cold water.

STEP 2: Blend until smooth. Then, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag to remove any pulp.

TIP: If the mixture is thicker than you’d like, a splash of cold water at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.

STEP 3: Proceed as in step 3 above to make the nectar.

Making Juice with a Food Processor

This method is similar to the blender method, but with a bit more texture.

STEP 1: Prepare your peaches as described above, then place them into your food processor with the cold water.

STEP 2: Process until you achieve a consistency that’s as smooth as possible. Then, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag to remove any leftover peach pulp.

STEP 3: To create the nectar, add your chosen sweetener and lemon juice to the fresh peach juice. Stir until fully combined.

Making Juice with an Immersion Blender

This method requires a large bowl, container, pitcher or jug, and takes a bit of time.

STEP 1: Prepare the peaches as above, then put them in a large bowl or pitcher suitable for an immersion blender, with the cold water.

STEP 2: Blend until smooth. As before, strain the mixture to remove any pulp.

STEP 3: Proceed as in step 3 above to make the nectar.

Serving

Feel free to add a few ice cubes to your homemade peach juice (or peach nectar) and enjoy it on its own. Or use it as a flavorful addition to other beverages. Here are a few fun drink variations:

  1. Peach Lemonade: Mix equal parts of peach juice and homemade lemonade. Serve over ice for a sweet and tangy refreshment.
  2. Peach Iced Tea: Add a splash of peach juice to your favorite iced tea.
  3. Peach Sunrise: For a non-alcoholic treat, mix peach juice, orange juice, and a splash of grenadine.
  4. Peach Bellini: Blend peach juice with your favorite sparkling wine for a refreshing co*cktail.
  5. Peach Smoothie: Blend peach juice, fresh coconut yogurt, a banana, and a touch of agave for a bright start to your day.

Storage

This peach juice is best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, you can store them for up to 3 days, covered in the fridge.

Remember to store the juice in a clean, sterilized airtight jar (like a mason jar) in the fridge.

Helpful Tips

  • Choose ripe, juicy peaches for the best flavor.
  • Only have unripe peaches? Put them in a paper bag or set them next to other ripe fruit like bananas at room temperature for a day or two.
  • Freeze the juice in ice cube trays for a peachy kick to your drinks!

Easy Homemade Peach Juice (Peach Nectar)

Yield: 2 cups

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Have too many peaches in your kitchen? Me too, but don't worry, making homemade peach juice is the perfect way to make good use of them. This post dives into how to make fresh peach juice and easy peach nectar, perfect for sipping on all summer long or adding to other drinks and co*cktails.

And the best part- no juicer is required! You can create this peachy drink right in your blender, food processor, or immersion blender (although I've included juicer instructions too).

Ingredients

For the Peach Juice:

  • 6 large whole peaches (about 530g or 3 ½ cups when sliced)
  • ½ cup very cold water adjust to preference

For the Peach Nectar:

  • 2-3 tbsp cane sugar, agave nectar, or maple syrup to taste
  • Juice of 1 small lemon (or use 1 small lime or ½ a navel orange) to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the peaches. Then, use a sharp serrated knife and carefully cut around the pit of each peach, slicing the peach into sections.
  2. If using a blender, food processor or immersion blender, once the pit is discarded, proceed to slice each of these sections into smaller wedges.
  3. If you prefer to remove the skin, blanch the whole peaches in boiling water for 30 seconds, then immediately place them into an ice bath. The skin should peel off with ease. Then slice them as noted above. You don't need to peel the peaches for the juicer method.

*Each method below will result in a sweet peach nectar, however the sweetness will vary based on your specific produce. When making the nectar, for the best results, remember to adjust the added sugar and lemon juice to taste.*

Juicer Method:

  1. Place the peach slices into your juicer and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Collect the juice and discard or compost the peach pulp.
  2. To make peach nectar, add your chosen sweetener and lemon juice to the fresh peach juice, then adjust to taste. Stir until fully combined.

Blender/Food Processor Method:

  1. Place the peach slices and cold water into your blender or food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth. If the mixture is thicker than you'd like, add a splash of water at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag to remove any pulp. Note: the blender tends to aerate the juice, creating bubbles. After resting for an hour or so, the bubbles will go away.
  4. To make peach nectar, add your chosen sweetener and lemon juice to the fresh peach juice. Adjust to taste. Stir until fully combined.

Immersion Blender Method:

  1. Place the peach slices and cold water into a large bowl or pitcher suitable for an immersion blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Strain the mixture to remove any pulp.
  4. To make peach nectar, add your chosen sweetener and lemon juice to the fresh peach juice. Adjust to taste. Stir until fully combined.

**Enjoy your fresh peach juice or peach nectar as is, or mix into your favorite summer drink recipes!

**Best enjoyed the first day, however it can be stored in a sterilized, airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • Add the water gradually for the blender and food processor methods until you reach a thickness you desire.
