The launch show peaked with 2.2million people watching across all devices, keeping an average of 1.9million throughout the 90-minute premiere run time.

This is the show’s highest ratings since Summer 2022.

The series also had a 36% share of the 16-34 age group, with 400,000 people within this frame tuning in –the highest audience of the day in this demographic.

Frankie Foster, 28 - who appeared onLove Islandin 2018 - says he doesn't think Joey is genuine.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Frankie said: "This stint is a cry for more publicity for him, I think.

"He’s not in there for love, he’s in there for the media attention and will stay as long as the public allows," he added.

"While I don’t believe he will win, I have a strong feeling that fans will back him, and I can see him making the final."

TheLove Islandvilla is calledSa Vinyassa and costs £5K a weekto rent out.

After the show ends it’ll look completely different, with no cameras in and a homely vibe created with a complete interior overhaul.

There will be no neon signage but instead rustic additions, including exposed brickwork and snug sofas.

Fans of the show are also able to stay in theLove Island 2021 villa.
